Sneak Peeks: Embellishments

Many 1920s and 1930s glamorous evening gowns were highly embellished with embroidery and/or beading. Sparkly, beaded embellishments are synonymous with the opulence of the art deco era.

We've been discovering some amazing examples of embellished dresses in the County Costume Archive, and have been choosing some corkers for display in the 1920s and 1930s sections of our exhibition.

We still can't give too much away at the moment, but here are a few close up examples. We can say that out of this little lot, 6 of the 8 shown will be on display and they are fabulous!
