To celebrate the opening of Fancy Pants: A celebration of Style 1920-45, you are invited to a mini vintage tea party where you can decorate fairy cakes and make a felt brooch to take away. Dress code: party frocks / best bib and tucker. No booking required, cost £1 for materials

Monday 4th August 2014 11.00am – 1.00pm, suitable for 7 – 12 year olds
Taking inspiration from our beautiful vintage costume exhibition, join our bead expert to make your own gorgeous jewels and accessories. Choose from a wonderful selection of colours, textures, shapes and sizes and transform these little gems into a necklace, bracelet, brooch, wristband or anklet. Bring old jewellery if you wish to add to a special new design.
Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. Cost £4.50 per child.
Create a costume for Catwalk Fame (+ invitation to the vintage fashion show)
Saturday 9th August 2014 11.00am – 1.00pm, suitable for boys and girls and a families
Work with visual artist Sian Hughes to create your very own Roaring Twenties Flapper costume. The Flapper fashion embraced all things modern and cutting edge, including fringed costume and stylish head-dress. Perfect for you to model on the catwalk before the opening of our vintage fashion show. Spaces are limited, so booking is essential.

1940's Wartime Fashion Show
Two shows throughout the day 1.00pm and 3.00pm – FREE entry
The curators of Fancy Pants; A Celebration of Style 1920-1945 present a catwalk show of 1940s wartime style. Featuring original WWII era garments, from fashion on a ration to a touch of glamour, it takes a look at what they wore to win the war. No booking required
Learn to Dance – Lindy Hop (Swing Jive)
16th August and 30th August 2014 Sessions start 11.00am, 1.00pm and 3.00pm
Join Ross Jive and Swing and learn how to Lindy Hop in one of their fun taster sessions. Sessions last approximately 45 minutes and you'll become a professional in no time!
Cost: £5 for one session or £7.00 for two on the same day – Tickets available in advance from the Art Gallery.
